REPUBLICAN March 14, 1884 E.L. Devine, a farmer of Dayton, while at the mill in Rural a few days ago, came near drowning, caused by falling into the race, while he was stooping over for a pail of water to water his horses. He had a terrible dunking. The kindly loan of some dry clothes by Rev. Mr. Pierce, enabled him to get home in comfortable shape. The cause of the bath was the water being drawn down from the race, leaving the ice in a rotten condition free from the water. |
