Our Eligible Young Men.

 

            While other papers are listing the young men open to proposals the present year, we deem it our duty to stand by the young men of Weyauwega.  There are too many to notice all at once, so those who are slighted this week must not harbor any ill feelings, for their turn will come in time.  Here they are:

            Gates, Chas. – Stands 5 feet in his stockings, weighs 104 pounds, whiskers to match blue eyes and hair.  24 years old.  By profession an artist.

            Taggart, Geo. – Weight 200 pounds, brown hair, goatee and imperial, rather tall of his age, 25 years last June.  Expects to practice medicine.

            Wall, D. – Age 24 years next May.  Wavy hair, slightly red eyes and full beard, stands 5 foot 4-3/4, and weighs 115 pounds.  Is inclined toward theology.

            Meyers, H. – Age 39.  This is the only drawback to him, as otherwise he would suit anyone.  Weighs 400, stands 29 hands high, with mild disposition.  By trade a dentist.

            Haire, Geo. – Blacksmith by profession, rather languid, gazelle eyes, and a daisy altogether.  17 feet high, weighs 50 pounds, and only 17 years old.  (Afraid of dogs, so no girl with a pug need apply.)

            Fenelon, Chas. – Most too old to have a place in this list, but is younger looking than he really is.  Trade, dancing master violinist and pugilist.  Full beard, weighs 100 pounds Troy weight, and stands 5 foot 13-1/2.

            Smith, James – The youngest of the lot, 16 last October. Blue eyes, curly hair.  Jeweler by profession.  Weighs 140 pounds – 5-1/2 feet in extent.

            Weisbrod, Will – Weighs 175 pounds and 4 oz.  13 feet high, goatee and burn-sides, rather bald, but only 18 years old.

            Taggart, R.F. – Heavy mustache, weighs 300, 9 feet high, 22 years old last week.  Surgeon.

            Winters, John – 17 years old tomorrow.  Weighs 250, green eyes and hair of the same color to match whiskers.  Tinner by profession, but expects to study law.

            Meyers, A. – Weighs 90 pounds, color blue, hair ditto.  Inclined to pugilism.  40 rods long, and only 30 years old.  A “catch” and no mistake.  Though supposed to be in the market, it is rumored that a Northport lady has a lien on him.

            Phillips, F. – By occupation a dude.  Smooth face, red hair, 17 inches around the waist.  Age 23 years, 7 months, 9-7/8 days.
