SAVED BY PRESENCE OF MIND

Mrs. H.C. Frihart Succeeded in Extinguishing Fire in Clothing.

Monday morning soon after Mr. H.C. Frihart of Baldwin Mills had left to take the train to attend the State Potato Growers convention at Marinette, Mrs. Frihart replenished the fire in a little heater in the sitting room with some light material and turned to attend to the wants of the baby.  She heard a crackling behind her and glancing over her shoulder discovered that her dress was on fire and the flames were already leaping as high as her head.  Dropping the child she caught a rug, wrapped it about her and then by rolling on the floor she extinguished the fire but not until some of her garments were nearly consumed.  In fighting the fire her hands were burned to blisters.  Otherwise she was not much the worse for an experience which she will never forget.
