On Tuesday April 30, Orin H. Rowe passed quietly away at his home in this city, at the ripe age of eighty-one years two months and sixteen days.

Deceased was born in New York, Feb. 14, 1831 and came to Waupaca county many years ago residing at Weyauwega and later at Northport from which place he removed to this city, after his election to the office of sheriff in the fall of 1878.  After serving two terms as sheriff he resumed his trade of harness maker fro some years, living in this city and later at Shawano for a short time. Deceased was a veteran of the Civil War and an honored member of the G.A.R. Post of this city.

He is survived by a widow and six children by a former marriage. They are, Henry and Ralph Rowe of this city, Will Rowe of Ironwood, Mich., and Mrs. Hattie Olcott of Skibo, Minn., Mrs. Wallace Lord and Mrs. P.J. McCarthy of Kansas City.

Rev. L.E. Shanks will hold short services at one o’clock this afternoon at the late residence, after which the remains will be borne to Weyauwega for interment, accompanied by a large number of the members of the Odd Fellows lodge of which society deceased was many years a member and which society will take charge of the funeral.
