REPUBLICAN
POST January
20, 1910 New
Firm to Handle Potatoes on Commission. Will
Occupy Bailey Warehouse Near Stock Yards. Last week Soren Jensen and Cal
Sutton started in the potato business in the Bailey warehouse near the stock
yards and will handle farmers’ potatoes on commission, charging four cents per
bushel for handling and selling the stock when shipped in bulk. When shipped in sacks the charge will be
enough more to pay for cost of sacks. They began in a small way but stock is
coming in faster than cars can be procured.
The outlook is now good however for better car service in the immediate
future on both roads and for all shippers. |
