TO COUNTY POTATO GROWERS

 

Will Organize County Potato Growers Association Saturday, May 16, at Court House in this City.

 

            On Saturday afternoon, May 16, at 2:30 o’clock, a meeting of potato growers will be held in the courthouse at Waupaca.  The purpose of this meeting will be to perfect the organization of a Waupaca County Potato Growers’ Association.

            The meeting will be held under the direction of the Horticultural department of the University of Wisconsin in co-operation with the Wisconsin Potato Growers’ Association.

            Through the potato extension work of the state university potato growers in the leading commercial centers (old and new) are planning community potato improvement this year.  A large amount of pure seed has been disseminated.

            At the meeting on Saturday at Waupaca a complete discussion will be given of the following:

1.       Adoption of Uniform Seed Stock for Waupaca county.

2.       Potato Field Inspection.

3.       Recent National Development in Relation to Potato Disease Quarantine.

4.       The Value of Wisconsin Disease – free Stock.

5.       The 1914 Convention of the State Potato Growers’ Association at Grand Rapids in November – J.G. Milward, Asst. Prof. of Horticulture.
