AUTO PARADE A FEATURE.

 

Every Auto in the County, says Smith, is Going to take Part in the Gigantic Spectacle.

 

           

            Mr. L.D. Smith of the Auto Parade Committee, says that the dope that they have even at this early date about the big automobile parade, the eye opener of the Potato Bake, ought to fill a full column “and even then” he told the reporter, “you aren’t telling a millionth part about its possibilities.”

            “Well, fire ahead, don’t keep me in suspense, what is the dope?”

            “John Gordon is sending out circular letters to every automobile owner in the county, asking for the presence of his particular machine in this parade. Now, you find out how many autos there are in the county and say, that that many are going to be here in gala array.”

            “How will it be if I say it this way Mr. Smith, “nearly every one of the 999 autos in the county will be here.”

            “No that won’t do at all” commanded Smith, “say every one of the 999 autos is going to be here.”

            Here we say it – every automobile in the county is going to be here to take part in the Big Auto Parade, the opening event of the Potato Bake festivities scheduled for 10 o’clock, Thursday, September 5, 1912.

            The parade is to be led by the famous Clintonville Four Wheel Drive truck which will give demonstrations of its wonderful power.  Behind it are to be every auto in the county to follow it all over the city and “maybe outside.”  Every auto is going to be arrayed with flowers and bunting to suit the taste of its owner.  Besides being in the parade the lucky chauffeurs run the chance of pulling down a big prize in cash or in automobile accessories.

            Mr. Smith, we apologize, this isn’t a column, is it?  But, never mind, we are with you in saying that the auto parade is going to be the big feature.  And with you we will mourn, if, per chance, every auto in the county is not there with flowers and bunting.
