COMMITTEES APPOINTED FOR POTATO BAKE

 

Partial List of Exhibits on which Prizes will be Offered.

Forty Different Prizes on Potatoes.

 

            Following we give the names of those who are actively engaged in making preparations for the Potato Bake to be held in this city Sept. 6th and 7th:

            General committee:  A.G. Nelson, Chm.; Erle Whipple, Sec.; N. Cohen, Fred Fisher, Fred Rosche

            Advertising committee:  Chas. M. Hall, Chm.; F.D. Burnham, Fred Rosche.

            Finance committee:  Erle Whipple, Chm; H.M. Derleth, Fred Peterson.

            Contest committee:  Peter Holst, R.F. Matthews, Rob. Holly, Harry Larson.

            Decorating committee:  John Ekstrom, Carl Nelson, Geo. James.

            Grounds and Entertainment:  s.L. von Almen, Wm. Heaney, Matt Ovrom.

            Barbecue and Provisions:  Levi Brasure, John Gordon, Royal Huvenor, Fred Hess.

            Premiums and Vegetable Display:  Fred Fisher, N. Cohen, J.E. Cristy, E.B. Jeffers.

            Vegetable display judges:  Thos. Court, Chas. Horton, John Ware.

            Baked and cooked stuff:  Mrs. J.A. Hudson, Mrs. Chas. Churchill, Mrs. Alfred Johnson.

            First and second prizes will be offered on the following articles:

            Potatoes:  Early Ohio, Red Ohio, Stray Beauty, Early Rose, White Rose, Summit, Beauty of Hebron, June Eating, Early Wisconsin, Early Puritan, Wisconsin Beauty, Crown Jewel, Snowflake, Rural New Yorker or Carmon, Vick’s Extra Early, Burbank, White Star, Brown, half bushel any other variety.

            Largest and best variety of vegetables, display of peppers, cucumbers, muskmelons, watermelons, tomatoes, carrots, sugar beets, table beets, Mangelwurtzel; peck of parsnips, red onions, yellow onions, white onions, cabbage, Hubbard squash, winter squash other than Hubbard, Long Pie pumpkin, Round Field pumpkin, rutabaga, flat turnip, sample corn stalks; half bushel popcorn, sweet corn, apples, canned fruits, white bread, brown bread, layer cake, pickles, jellies, apple pie, Dahlias in bloom, celery; winter wheat, spring wheat, winter rye, Yellow Dent corn, White Dent corn, Medium clover seed.
