WAUPACA COUNTY REPUBLICAN POST

POTATO BAKE DAY

The Entertainment Committee of the W.B.M. Advancement Association has been thinking for some time of a gala day for Waupaca in the coming fall.  The date now under consideration is Labor Day Sept. 7.

The plan is to make this a great home-coming day to have a sort of miniature county fair with premiums offered games and contests with prizes, fire works and confetti in the evening and a grand free barbecue and potato bake at noon excursions will be run from outlying towns and all kinds of amusements provided.

The only way to make this a success is for every one to get busy and push for an attendance of 3,00 people at that time.  Get notice out in your correspondence.  Advertise co-operate, plan.

Send notice all over the country to former residents of the festival and make that week home coming week.

At no time of the year is Waupaca more charming than the first of September.  Then let us all get our shoulders to the wheel and push together for Potato Day and 5,000 Waupaca visitors.
