THE
WAUPACA REPUBLICAN September
23, 1904 POTATOES,
PRICES AND BUYERS Potato prices range this week from
25 to 30 cents, according to stock. Now that the frost has killed the vines,
digging will commence in earnest. There
will be lots of good potatoes and some poor ones, but the latter will probably
find their way to the starch factories.
It is impossible to say now just what the ruling market will be for the
late fall and winter. There will be
plenty of buyers in this market and the probability is the Waupaca market will
give the farmer all the tubers will stand.
The following is the list at present:
A.M. Penney, P.M. Olfson; Waupaca Starch & Potato Co., L.N. Starke,
T.H. Cochran & Co., Hans Ebby, T.H. Penney, H. Steadman and Son,. Mortenson
& Nelson, all having warehouses and side tracks. |
