THE
WAUPACA COUNTY REPUBLICAN August
29, 1890 Potato
is King This Year. W.H. Holmes, Editor of the REPUBLICAN, Waupaca,
Wis. Please say to your readers that the potato crop is nearly a failure. All reports received at this office with the exception of part of Wisconsin, Minnesota and Dakotas say that the crop will be the smallest ever known. The southern part of the State will hardly have enough for home consumption, and the fair crop of the middle section of the State which is noted throughout the Northwest as producing large crops of the best quality will have a bonanza this year. Save the potatoes for they will
bring big prices. Yours
very truly, W.H. Morrison, Supt. Farm Institutes |
