THE WAUPACA REPUBLICAN September 16, 1898 THE GRANITE QUARRY Looks Like a New Boom There. Arrangements have been completed during the past few weeks by which Ripley Bros., Alton and Mont of Oshkosh and Milwaukee assume entire control of the Waupaca granite quarry. The young men are on the ground and have commenced to reshingle and repair all the buildings ready for future business in commercial and monumental work. Messrs. Davidson and Robertson, the expert granite workers, and Smith, the polisher, are to remain in charge of work as heretofore. They have some contracts on hand to finish and then they will be ready for all that comes. A large force will be put on when everything is ready, and we may expect a revival of the railway project at any time. The Ripley’s have means and when they get ready they will push the enterprise for all there is in it. |
