Railroad Construction01
OSHKOSH NORTHWESTERN
January 22, 1871
The contract for bridging, piling and filling the Wolf River marsh where the Portage, Winnebago and Lake Superior railroad crosses the river at Gill’s Landing has been let to E.I. Putnam of Waupaca, to be completed before spring.
Letters from the headquarters of the upper Wolf say that there is plenty of snow there, while in some portions of Waupaca County there is none at all.
