THE MARION ADVERTISER January 26, 1900 Ex-Sheriff Williams Lands Another Bird. William Craven the fifth one of the alleged Wisconsin Central train robbers, was arrested at Menasha Monday and was brought to Waupaca. He was taken before Justice Chamberlain and in default of $5,000 bail was remanded to jail. Craven, with the other defendants, will be tried in June at Dartford, Green Lake county. This last arrest, like the others, was made through the instrumentality of ex-Sheriff Andrew Williams, who is now connected with the Special agency force of the Wisconsin Central company, whose train was so successfully held up and robbed four years ago. Citizens are much interested in the arrest of the five men and the probable outcome of the trial. |
