THE WAUPACA REPUBLICAN POST September 23, 1915 THREE TIMES AND OUT Rain Again Prevents Work on Sheridan-Waupaca Road on Monday, Sept. 20 Monday of this week was the third day set for work on the Yellowstone Trail near the Farmington town hall and for a third time rain prevented the men’s going from town to shovel gravel that was to be hauled by farmer’s teams to the place where it is sorely needed for the repair of the roads. It will be wise to wait now until after threshing, silo filling and potato digging are past and then get busy and do the work in gangs that can work to best advantage and occupying two or more days for the work. There is always a time after the press of fall work is past when teams and men may be found in abundance and gravel may be hauled to advantage even after the fields are frozen too much for plowing. Those interested in the Waupaca-Sheridan road should keep closely in touch with the men in this city who are quite as ready to aid in this road improvement as the farmers living along the road. All should be ready at the drop of the hat when conditions are right. There will be no need of a long notice of a week or more. By use of telephone and auto the people interested can be reached on short notice and a good piece of work done and then will be the time to do the talking about it. |
