THE WAUPACA REPUBLICAN POST September 9, 1915 TO WORK TRAIL FRIDAY The Waupaca-Sheridan Road near Town Hall to be Scene of Activity. Arrangements have been made for working on the Waupaca-Sheridan road west of Farmington town hall Friday of this week. Messrs. L. H. Peterson and Sam Erickson have offered to canvass the neighborhood for enough teams to keep busy the twenty shovelers promised by this city. It is expected that shops and stores will be deserted on that day as the businessmen of the city will prefer to enlist in this work rather than send a substitute. Automobiles will be secured to furnish transportation to those who will volunteer to give a day’s work. Erle Whipple will furnish coffee and Messrs. Peterson and Erickson will furnish milk and cream for the picnic dinner that everyone is expected to bring to supply his individual needs. The residents of Farmington have already held one trail day and much work was done on the road west of Sheridan. Friday will not be the last trail day of the season if this one is a success. It is expected that everyone who participates may refer to it with pride and real pleasure. |
