YELLOWSTONE TRAIL CAR ARRIVES AT SEATTLE

One Man Lost Life in Negotiating Last Lap -

Time for Trip is Ninety-seven Hours

The Yellowstone Trail run from Chicago to Seattle was made in ninety-seven hours and ten minutes, according to a telegram from H.O. Cooley, Aberdeen, S.D., manager of the Yellowstone Trail association. The distance of 2,430 miles was scheduled to be covered in 100 hours.  The first car carrying a message for Seattle, left Chicago Tuesday noon and arrived in Milwaukee at 2:45 o’clock that afternoon.  On the last lap of the trip Edward Dickson was killed and three other occupants of the car were injured when the car was ditched fifteen miles east of Seattle. Dickson was candidate for speaker of the Washington state legislature in 1911.
