School Lands in Waupaca

The sale of school lands selected last year in Waupaca County as part of the 500,000 acre grant, took place Wednesday last, at Waupaca Falls. Many of the tracts are very desirable for farming purposes, and between five and six thousands acres were claimed by pre-emption, and the claims allowed. A large proportion of the remainder (the whole number of acres selected being between ten and eleven thousand) was sold at high figures, some of it at over four dollars per acre. We understand the sale went off in a very spirited manner, and that the very best of good humor prevailed among the crowd; and at the close of the day there was general satisfaction with the management and result of the business.
