One Year at Waupun Thursday, Dec. 13, Ed Beckwith and
Frank Morgan were taken to Grand Rapids by Sheriff J.L. Tollefson and both
pleaded guilty to the charge of having broken into a box car near the Soo depot
and taking goods worth $835.50 early in December and were sentenced by Judge
Webb to one year in state prison at Waupun. On the same day T.M. Cook pleaded
guilty to the charge for which he was bound over to appear at the June term of
court and paid a fine of $250 and costs, $26.41. On Tuesday Beckwith and Morgan were
committed to prison, being taken by Sheriff Tollefson and James Hansen. |
