Last week W.S. Cary wound up the carpenter work on the contract taken by Nelson Bros. to build Dr. Reed’s house inside of thirty days.  The job was completed in three weeks,  The house is 16 x 34, a story and a half high.  The house is all plastered and the walls being placed under it this week.

Another house on another lot purchased by another Dane, on B.F. Brown’s tract, State street is being enclosed.  This is the fourth building there in a little over a year, all in a row, and all alike, nearly. But they make pleasant and comfortable residences.  The Scandinavian population are noted for their propensity in getting homes of their own, pretty soon after coming over.
