FLY SWAT DAY TO BE OBSERVED NEXT SATURDAY

 

Every Rural School Child at School House

Will be Presented With One.

 

            One of the most popular slogans of the day, one that has done more to make for sanitation sentiment is the brief dictum “Swat the Fly”.  It is heard on every hand by both old and young.

            The Hoaglin Manufacturing Company has initiated a new idea in extending the operations of the slogan.  They have inaugurated the “Fly Swat Day” and have selected next Saturday, May 20th for the occasion.

            The scheme is to work together on the advertising idea; on one side of the company’s Fly Swat handle will be found the name of one firm, on the other side the name of another firm.  At the Hustler Picnic next Saturday tickets will be found in the lunch packages distributed on the school grounds; these tickets will indicate the store to which the children are to go for a fly swat.  When they have all been supplied, arrangements have been made to distribute the remainder in some other manner.  In this way it is anticipated that every one will have a fly swat; then woe betide the fly that does not run for cover.
