WAUPACA
REPUBLICAN January
28, 1887 Waupaca
Improvements. The improvements at the granite
quarry the past summer aggregate fully $30,000. The electric improvements are worth $15,000. Street and cemetery improvements $5,000. Add to that, fully $10,000 in the
improvements to the milling business, dams, etc. Brick blocks $20,000, several fine residences worth from three to
six thousand dollars each, fifty worth over a thousand each, and fifty more
worth over $500 each and other enterprises worth $10,000 and a sum total of
$175,000 to $200,000 would jut about foot up what this little “Sandy” city done
in 1886, and she has foundations and business blocked out for nearly as much
more in 1887. Waupaca also pays $100,000 for freight transportation, etc. Who says this town will blow away with the
sand? Bring along your railroads and
business. |
