OBITUARY.

 

                        Silas Samuel Johnson was born in Portland, Dodge Co., Wis., Oct. 18, 1854; died January 25, 1914, at the age of fifty-nine years, three months and seven days.  He came to Waupaca with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Johnson in 1855 and settled on a farm in the east part of the town, where he spent his life with the exception of about twelve years.  He was married to Mrs. Sena Omit August 16, 1898.  He was sick over two years, the last year being confined to the bed a good share of the time.  He bore his affliction very patiently.  The funeral was held from the residence Wednesday, Jan. 28.  Rev. Sheard of Waupaca conducted the services.  John Faulks, Chas. Stinchfield, Frank Axtell, Robert Faulks, Arthur Axtell and Wm. Schroeder acted as pallbearers. He leaves to mourn the loss of a kind and loving father, a wife, three daughters, Andra; Mary, Evelyn, one son, Allan, his mother and one sister, Mrs. Taylor Looker, of Waupaca, besides other relatives and friends. Interment was at Lakeside cemetery.
