DEATH OF MRS. A.G. NELSON

 

After Protracted Illness of Several Years -

Funeral Friday, Dec. 23, At 1:30 P.M.

 

            Mrs. A.G. Nelson died at her home in this city Tuesday at 11:20 p.m., Dec. 20, after a lingering illness of several years.

            Annie S. Beardmore was born April 4, 1859, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Beardmore.  Four sons and two daughters were reared on the old Beardmore homestead in Farmington.

            Deceased was married Jan. 16, 1883, to Andrew G. Nelson of this city, and to this union one son, Van Nelson, of this city, was born.

            Of the four brothers, George, William and Henry are deceased, and Frank of Eau Claire is physically unable to attend the funeral of his sister.  The sister Clara, (Mrs. Cross) resides at Oshkosh, and with her sons John and Dan Cross, and a cousin, Mrs. F.F. Wheeler, and the latter’s daughter, Miss Genevieve Wheeler, are expected to come to Waupaca for the funeral services which will be held Friday at 1:30 o’clock.  Other relatives expected are Joe Nelson of Hibbing, Minn., Dr. and Mrs. J.S. Gordon, Mrs. A.J. Gordon and daughter, Miss Mabel Gordon of Milwaukee.   Six grandchildren suffer the loss of a grandmother, whose kindness they have known from earliest childhood.

            Besides being a model wife and mother, Mrs. Nelson was active in social work being a member of St. Mark’s church and the St. Mark’s and St. Agnes’ guilds.  She was a member of Eastern Star and had served on the city park board.

            The sympathy of the community goes out especially to the bereaved husband, who has been so solicitous for his wife’s comfort during her long years of suffering and decline.
