WAUPACA
POST October
25, 1883 Waupaca potato dealers have paid
Chicago prices for potatoes during the past week. The reason they have been able to do so is because Waupaca’s
reputation as a potato market brings special orders here from portions of the
country where the crop is short, and those who thus order expect to pay a
little over the Chicago price for our potatoes. As soon as these orders are filled the probabilities are that the
price will drop to about 17 cents less than Chicago prices. |
