Death in Royalton

Weyauwega Chronicle:  A very sad affair occurred in the family of Robert Reed, Tuesday evening about 6 p.m. resulting in the death of Mrs. Reed, which happened as follows:  While she was walking in front of her house she was suddenly overcome by heat and fell prostrate upon the ground, where she was found about fifteen minutes afterward by F.W. Estes, on his way home in an unconscious condition.  The alarm was immediately given, and medical aid summoned as quickly as possible, but to no avail, and she expired Thursday evening, after two days of intense agony and pain.  Trouble, as the old saying has it, never comes singly, as is fully proven in Mr. Reed’s case, the circumstance of his loosing the greater part of his right hand, being still fresh in our minds.  In the death of Mrs. Reed our citizens lose a valuable friend and neighbor, and one whose influence has always been for the right, as was indicated by her every day life.  Her remains were lain at rest Saturday afternoon and the funeral was attended by a large congregation.
