WAUPACA REPUBLICAN February 24, 1905 R.F.D. No. 7 Another Rural Free Delivery route No. 7, is proposed, to start out from Waupaca, an application having been made for it some time ago. The proposed route starts out from the city by the Brainard bridge, north to the old Hunt farm, thence west to Chris Jensen’s, to John McFall’s, to Fred Fisher’s and to Brooks & Root’s mills, where the Sherman post office is at present located. Thence it goes north to the Scandinavia line past the Hambleton farm, west on the town line to Lanark, south two miles then east back to Sherman; then south over the Morey bridge and past Gunsten’s and Anderson’s until it strikes the main Sheridan road, thence to this city past the Penney farms, and Gard’s corners. The route is about twenty-five miles in length, and will accommodate 107 families. W.J. Hickman U.S. agent for R.F.D. routes was in the city Monday and Tuesday and went over the proposed route, and expressed himself as being satisfied that such a route was needed. It may be some weeks before an order pro or con will be received from the department can be received. |
