RECORD LEADER December 7, 1899 WHAT DOES IT MEAN The Wisconsin Central Railroad Company are building in a large coal shed near the depot to hold over 100 tons of coal. It looks as if this might be made a terminal point for some of the freight trans. If so it will bring several families to this city to reside. The Record had heard that such a thing was not unlikely to happen and the fact that the coal sheds are in course of construction lends color to the rumor. * * * * * It is said that a deal has been closed between the Wisconsin and Illinois Central Railroads whereby the former will enter Chicago over the latter tracks. The trains are still running into the Grand Central station, we are informed. Agent Frost has received no official notice of a change. |
