LOCAL SCHOOL CENSUS IS NOW COMPLETED

Number of Pupils Is Same as Last Year

75 Move From This City While 13 Pass School Age.

The school census of the city has just been completed and reveals some rather interesting facts.  The total last year was 726.  It is an unusual coincidence but the number is the same this year although there have been 99 changes during the year.  It is also peculiar that there are 363 boys and 363 girls.  It looks as though there is no shortage of either sex here in Waupaca.

Between the ages of seven and fourteen there are 157 boys and 150 girls, while we find 55 boys and 63 girls between the ages of fourteen and sixteen.

During the year there were thirteen pupils who passed over the twenty year mark and so are not included in the census.  Perhaps the most surprising fact is that there are seventy-five who have moved out of the city.  We generally think of our population as not changing but the above fact reveals that many families have left the city while as many more have come to take their places.

The pupils according to ward are as follows:

                        First                  175

                        Second             209

                        Third                212

                        Fourth               130

                                    Total     726
