WILLIAM WAGNER

 

            William Wagner died at his home in this city Sunday morning, Feb. 6, 1916, at the age of sixty-eight years, eleven months, twenty-two days, death being due to dropsy of the heart.  Deceased was born in Germany, February 15, 1847. He came to America when a boy; enlisted in the 25th   Wis. Inf. In which he served two years, six months and six days.  He was married to Miss Ida Nichols at Hingham, Sheboygan County, coming to Waupaca six years later, where they have lived the greater part of the time since.

            Four children were born to them:  May (Mrs. F.S. Spooner), who died in Mt. Vernon, Wash., six years ago; Herbert, Willard, and Minnie (Mrs. Ray Seeber), all of this city.  Other relatives left to mourn are a sister, Mrs. Forbes, of Green Bay, and a brother, Henry, of this city.

            The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the residence of W.E. Wagner, W. Union Street, Rev. A. Jacobs, pastor of the First Baptist church of which the deceased was long a member, officiating.  Interment was at Lakeside cemetery beside the remains of the wife who died about four years ago.
