WAUPACA
RECORD-LEADER September
21, 1916 STANDARD
HISTORY OF WAUPACA COUNTY TO BE PUBLISHED. S.L. Appleman of Indiana is here in
the interest of the Lewis Publishing Co., of Chicago, arranging for the editing
and publication of an elaborate and complete Standard History of Waupaca
county. This work will be published in
two large volumes; will be finely illustrated and will be of intrinsic value to
residents as well as to others. John M. Ware of this city is to be general supervising editor and he will be assisted by an advisory board of editors consisting of L.F. Shoemaker and Edward E. Browne of Waupaca, Robert Taggert of Weyauwega, Silas E. Wright of New London, Charles F. Carr of New London, Christian D. Dick of Manawa, and Frederick C. Wipf of Iola. While it will require more than a year to arrange and print this history, orders are now being taken by Mr. Appleman, who has come here with his family and expects to stay most of the winter with us, assisting in the writing of the autobiographies and in other ways, so as to make the work when completed of real value. |
