ABOUT THE TROLLEY The
Electrical Installation Company Commence Their Contract. James
A. Brett, general manager of the Electrical Installation Company, Chicago, took
the measurements with Secretary W. B. Baker on Tuesday for the curves on the
corners of Water and Main and Fulton Streets and looked over the ground with
the plans and specifications showing every foot of the line to be constructed
from the Wisconsin Central depot to Grand View, Chain o’ Lakes. The doubting ones when they saw Mr. Brett
with the roll of specifications and tape measure in hand, began to think the
time had actually come when business on the proposed line was to be resumed and
soon brought to completion. The iron
and rails for the line was shipped Tuesday and the ties and balance of the
material have been shipped and are expected any day. A
crew of men were set to work Wednesday on the grade from Mt. Tom toward town so
as to be ready as soon as the material arrives. The
cars for the line have also been purchased and a building for a car barn will
be erected at once near the end of the track not far from the Wisconsin Central
depot. |
