A granite chunk got wedged in the bottom of the pipe of the 111 foot well at the Mirror Lake pumping station which prevented driving the long point below the pipe. On Wednesday Supt. Philipps put a charge of dynamite down to the bottom and touched it off, hoping to clear the obstruction and insert the long brass point. Mr. Philipps said if he could not get the point inserted he would treat the bottom of the pipe to a coat of gravel as the flow of water from the well was ample, he thought, even if the point was not inserted.
