Soldier Memorial Is Now Erected At Lakeside Cemetery
A soldiers’ memorial of fine red Wisconsin granite from Wausau quarry, has been set in Lakeside cemetery at an appropriate cost of $500, the funds for which have subscribed by Waupaca organizations as follows: Grand Army of Republic, Woman’s Relief Corps, Sons of Veterans, American Legion, and American Legion Auxiliary.
There is no organization of Spanish war veterans in Waupaca, although there are several survivors of that war who reside here. These men have subscribed liberally as individuals.
Two U.S. flags are unfurled over the following inscription: “Dedicated to the revered memory of all who honorably served our beloved country in her wars.”
